09.11.2023 Meeting at University of Zululand, presentation and demonstration of indigenous food innovations


The INCrease team met with directives of the University of Zululand. In this exchange, members of all participating universities presented their institutions and provided an overview of research interests, current programs, and potential for collaboration. 

The program started with presentations of South African researchers working on INC. There was an exchange with several stakeholders that included farmers and extension officers. 

The INCrease team presented their research interests and exchanged with stakeholders about their interests and questions in the framework of the project.

The program concluded with a visit to the stands of several innovations that used INC for food products.

This activity is part of the initiation phase of the project INCrease (15.07.2023-15.12.2023). The initiation phase includes the elaboration of a concept for the transdisciplinary approach of the project, mapping of stakeholders, co-creation workshops with stakeholders in the Eastern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal provinces in South Africa. Also, expert discussions and meetings at the Universities of Zululand and the Western Cape.
