10.11.2023 Knowledge co-creation workshop, field visit and dialogue with female farmers of the Mtubatuba municipality in the KwaZulu-Natal province
The first session of this exchange took place in the Mtubatuba municipality of the KwaZulu-Natal province. Extension officers, farmers, and researchers from the participating universities of the INCrease project. The farmers of Mtubatuba invited the INCrease team to walk in their fields and explained their production system and also prepared samples of seeds and fruits produced in their fields.
The last session took place at the Makhasa traditional council with more farmers of the region.
This was a very successful program for all stakeholders and members of the INCrease project. The INCrease members also presented their research interests and answered questions of the community.
This was a successful program where the INCrease team could discuss with stakeholders about agronomic, nutrition and policy issues.
This activity is part of the initiation phase of the project INCrease (15.07.2023-15.12.2023). The initiation phase includes the elaboration of a concept for the transdisciplinary approach of the project, mapping of stakeholders, co-creation workshops with stakeholders in the Eastern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal provinces in South Africa. Also, expert discussions and meetings at the Universities of Zululand and the Western Cape.
